I tried to portray the feeling of what is going on in the world right now, that we sometimes feel like we are captured in sadness/gloominess (everything that is gray in the photo and the chain linked fence) ,and the feeling we seem to miss nowadays (the colored part: happiness and love). I was trying to show a gloomy world where people are sad and just want to promote one thing that is missing: color and love in their life. That is why she is wearing that shirt with the word ''love'' on it and flowers with bright colors. We can learn that even though we live in sad world or experience something sad, lets always try to brighten up the mood and promote love.

Depth of Field

Image
On the left you see the focus on the background and on the right the focus is on the plant in the foreground. Now on the left you can see the beautiful details of the painting and you can focus on everything that is happening beyond the plant, While on the right the focus goes to the plant and its out sticking leaves. The background is busy so making it blurry takes away all the attention to the thing in the foreground. Same thing for the foreground. If you make that blurry all the attention goes to the sharp details of the background. I think this change makes the subject of each photo more vivid and more sticking out. However, to me it did not really change the mood in any way.

Ansel Adams

Image
Ansel Adams was born in San Francisco in 1902 as an only child. At the age of 4 he survived the aftershock of the great earthquake and fire from 1906. When he was born his parent were pretty old, his mother was nearly forty. His mom got upset at her husband because their family fortune collapsed in 1907 and he couldn't restore it. The mothers' way of handling the family drama left a bad imprint on Ansel's life. His father however, was very encouraging and supported his son in whatever he could. At the age of 12 he got his first camera and got inspired by Yosemite National park. This sparked his career as a photographer even though he started out as a musician. He learned to play the piano and read music all by himself. But ab trip to the national park changed all that 1927 was his most successful year for him. Int his year he capture "monolith" , his first fully visualized photograph. Even though as a recognized artist, he couldn't take care of his finances....

Than I adjusted the brightness by making the photo a little darker so the sun wasn't too bright. After that I also adjusted the saturation so the color of the grass and ground would pop a little bit. before after I didn't really do much with this picture because I thought the lightning and the photo itself looked pretty good. The only thing I did was crop it a little and made it a little darker by adjusting the br...

Retouch Example

To make this edit I used the tool on the left of the Photoshop program called ''spot healing brush tool''. (2 buttons under the crop tool) I zoomed in on the photo to see what exactly on her skin needed to go and made my circle smaller with the brackets. I gently brushed away the zit she had and that spot filled up with the skin on the background.
